Jacob has been an illustrator for quite a long while and he was extremely educational about what it resembles to invigorate with others. He said it could get wild and changes to the story could happen a minute ago, so liveliness are now and again tossed out. A suggestion he gave was not to turn out to be excessively connected to your work in such conditio

Job Search Tips Video: The purpose of this video was to demonstrate what to avoid doing during a job interview. The video highlights 4 important things the video highlights not do are: coming in late for the interview, being brutally honest, having a bad attitude, and being unprofessional. You don't want to be late since it keeps your employer hanging and it creates a bad impression right off the bat when you want to be leaving a good one. Being brutally honest by saying things like you're in it for the salary or you're completely clueless on how to do something may create the wrong idea of yourself in your employer and makes you look like you have no depth to yourself. Elevator Pitch Video: The purpose of this video was to give us advice on how to deliver a good elevator speech to different types of people. An important point the video makes is that the purpose of an elevator pitch is to set up a better time to meet/talk, get the contact info for someone involved in th

TAKE THE CHALLENGE: HOW THE HUMAN-ANIMAL BOND BENEFITS PEOPLE AND PETS The Issue: Humans and animals have always shared a very special bond. Whether it is enabling people with disabilities to navigate their environments, easing tension for survivors of war and natural disaster, or simply acting as a social facilitator for people who are shy, animals can help us better interact with the world around us. They allow people who would otherwise feel excluded or differen t to integrate into society. The Game Design Prompt: Research how pets help people who may feel isolated or excluded relate to and interact with others in their communities. Make a game that teaches people how the human-animal bond improves lives. Virtual Streaming CS Mentoring

Image
What I learned today in the virtual meeting were many things. One of them was what the speakers do in a day. The first speaker says she works with her coworkers to solve problems and design features and attend meetings to discuss goals, priorities, and tasks. Alyda was the second speaker and she gave really good advice to 9th,10th and 11th grades about college. She told them step by step what they have to do starting with getting good grades and then preparing what they want to study in college. She said that if you go into a career thinking that its what you really want but then change your mind about it, it is okay to change majors because you have to follow what you feel comfortable in. She also advised that we should choose a college that best fits our requirements because it is where you will build your network. Think about what is your "thing" and how you will market yourself to the admissions committee. College is about opportunities of which you will take advantage, i

Peer Feedback on Coronavirus FlipGrid

Got to the flip-grid channel and watch your peer's videos and then give constructive feedback to at least 3 of your peers. Give suggestions, compliments or ask questions. Honglin : I like it when you said that you feel better because everyone is experiencing this pandemic which makes you feel a bit better about it all. Jason: I agree with your statement that this pandemic happened really fast and that it just made us all confused about how to handle things. Danish:  I also share the same hope as you where we get to experience the feeling of walking across the stage and getting the diploma we all worked really hard for.

CTE Expo

What is the objective of the CTE EXPO? What did you do to prepare for the CTE EXPO? What did you do during the actual event? What do you think went really well and why? What do you think could be improved for next year's CTE EXPO? What is your overall feeling about the expo? include pictures of the event. CTE expo is a way of communicating with the freshman. As well as to show the freshman what we do in the web design academy. What I did to prepare was that I created a home page that would lead everyone to the labs and projects that I have accomplished this year. During the event, I led some freshmen over to look at not only my home page but at some of my other peers as well. I was able to talk to not only the students but the teachers as well more freely due to my already having a couple years of experience. I feel like, during this expo, we were able to recruit a lot more people than in previous years because they seem more enthusiastic about it.

Labs 30-35

Image
This lab was called, "Sort Without Articles". This lab had given us a list of bands which then was sorted out by alphabetical order in the console.log. To accomplish the sorting, I had first taken the list of all the band and then removed the "a" and "the" from the sorting to make it more accurate and not have these words affect the sorting. After that, I sorted the bands out using a jQuery selector and then created a login console with the sorting having been completed. Lab 31, called "Adding Up Time With Reduce", was a lab where there were a whole bunch of video times given to me and I had to add them up using JavaScript. Most of it is on the console and you inspect element my webpage, you can see how long each said the vide is, and in console, the total time displayed for all the videos together.   Lab 32 is titled, "Webcam Fun". Within this lab, I utilized the webcam on a webpage that you can use to take pictures using i

Lab 36

Image
Lab 36 is titled "Speech Synthesis". In this lab, I created a voice simulator, which basically is a web app that you can use to allow a bot to say whatever text you type in. You can also switch the voices, the pitch of the voice, and how fast the bot says it. Within this lab, the functionality of the text to speech revolves around the JavaScript and the HTML. In the HTML document, I added labels with input detectors that allow users to input the amount of pitch and rate they want the bot to play their text at. I also added buttons that are used to stop whatever the bot is currently saying while at the same time, a button that starts the speech.

Lab 37

Image
The title of this lab is "Sticky Nav". I created a website that included a navigation bar that is sticky. This generally means that if you scroll down the page, the navigation bar should follow you and be on the page at all times. To make the navigation bar sticky, I first created the navigation bar using an unordered list with list items containing each panel. The CSS linked with it was styled with a black background and text that was white to compliment my page colors. There wasn't that much JavaScript involved in making this function.

Lab 38

Image
Lab 38 is titled, "Event Capture, Propagation". This lab demonstrates how events work in JavaScript and how you can get the information of what is clicked on a page, demonstrated by a div with 3 layers and a button. In order to get the data, you would have to open the console and click on either of the rectangles or the button to get a response.

Lab 39

Image
Lab 39 was titled, "Stripe Follow Along Nav". In this lab, I created a special kind for a navigation bar that opens a special dropdown that displays information and can be turned into a hyperlink.   In order to make this function, I created a navigation bar using a <nav> tag and I included all of my information in it. The dropdown animation is created with JavaScript and CSS. To create this effect, the dropdown is hidden and then it fades in when you hover over the navigation associated with the dropdown.

Lab 40

Image
This lab is titled "Click and Drag". This lab has the click and drag characteristics. It consists of a bunch of tabs with numbers that go from  the left or right to navigate through them. The website is shown in the screenshot above. To create the functionality on this website, I first made a bunch of div items in the HTML document. I added CSS to make the number displays look easy to see on any background they were on, which were also added in the CSS. The JavaScript has the click and drag feature, and does this by logging an event 'mousedown' which will allow you to click and drag the numbers across the screen to go forward or backward.

Lab 41

Image
In this lab, I created a website that allows you to control a video's playback video speed. I added a video via the video tag in HTML that I got from a website full of small clips. It can either slow down the video or speed it up. It mostly works with JavaScript,   by setting the speed, bar and video as variables. I then used these variables to calculate what rate the video would be played at based on the progression of the bar on the right side.

Lab 42

Image
Lab 42 is a webpage that has a timer. It's a web page used to keep track of time. There are also preset times set via buttons and if you click them, it will set a timer corresponding with that button. You can also manually enter a number of minutes to set a custom timer.

Lab 43

Image
Lab 43 is called, "Whack An Otter" in which I created a webpage that allows you to play the game. In order for you to play the game, you press the start button. The otters are going to start coming out one by one, and pretty fast too. You have to click on the otters before they enter back their hole. Your score is calculated next to the title. Once the game is over and the otters stop spawning, you can click start again to reset your score and have another shot at it.
